    Smile New Queen

After installing a new queen in a cage how long should you wait to see if they release her and how long before you release her?

Lots of ways to answer. If I found and killed my old queen and then added a new, store bought queen, I'd wait about 3 days and then see if they were biting at the cage. If not, I'd release her. It wouldn't be uncommon to wait a bit longer.

Why are you requesting? What are the circumstances? That info would
    help.

I didn't have a queen so I had to buy one. I placed her in the hive today. Thanks for the information.

Under normal circumstances, it would be 3-5 days while inside a cage. I will only release her when the
workers no longer try to kill her inside the cage.
Don't mix foreign bees into a virgin hive. She might get balled 100% of the time! When will you ever learn, huh?
