I have seen on several chats that make mention of some fed law that it is illegal to spray bees now because they are endangered. (technically a invasive) does: anybody know of this or is it just more internet gossip?
I don't know for certain but I know one of our local pest control places told me last year that they can't spray them until a beekeeper has made an attempt to remove them, or at least has told them that they can't be removed.... That was prior to the Federal Endangered Species listing.
Probably going to vary by jurisdiction but I've never heard of.auch a Federal law. Honey bees aren't included in the endangered species issue since they are an introduced species and generally considered livestock as I understand it.
I was surprised to read here that they were on that list, and am glad to read that they aren't. If they were, we probably wouldn't be able to touch them or put them in a box, or need some expensive government approved permit. Imagine the consequence of smashing a couple bees putting a super on.
I guess that's what I get for skimming headlines. I saw Bees listed on Endangered Species list....... Guess I should have read the whole thing.
