    Default Honey color and flavor

Just pulled 4 honey supers off 2 different hives that are sitting side by side, extracted first 2 supers drained extractor then extracted next 2 supers. I was shocked to see what the 2 different hives produced as to color and flavor. The taste between hives is a total differance, one taste of flowers and has a foresty something about it. The other is a darker more clover sweet honey. I never thought there would be that big of a differance with the hives sitting 3 foot apart. Would the other hives that have suppers on that do not have all the frames drawn out change much with the up coming fall flow?

Ah, the joys of fresh honey. It always tastes a little different depending on what they were gathering at the time. This is why I prefer to crush and strain only one or two combs at a time. I love all the different flavors and I lean toward the lighter colored honey.

I did enjoy doing 2 different extractions and may still try to do this again with the up coming fall flow.
