Default What's she gathering from my cucumber leaves?

We've had a major problem with white powdery mildew on our cucumber plants this year, so we've been keeping air flowing through the hothouse and watering as little as possible. I watched this gal scraping something from the leaves yesterday. She had a decent amount of it on her pollen baskets, but I'm pretty darn sure that wasn't pollen she was gathering. Any ideas?

Honeydew. Makes dark honey. Prized in some places.

Why not pollen? That dust on the leaves could be wind blown pollen from another source.

Lots of small lady bug larvae and little black and white lady bugs on them... We've had plenty of black aphid-looking bugs on our tomatoes in years past. This year, we've seen mostly lady bug larvae and lady bugs amungst the thick layer of mildew. Maybe the little aphids have been leaving some honeydew...

Thanks for the input everyone! Not a crisis, but always fun to get input from folks

    Aphids are a likely candidate...

Could she be collecting the powdery mildew?
