    Default how do I harvest

This is my first year beekeeping. I have a Warre hive that I started with a package early spring. I added a 3rd box a month ago because it seemed like the top box was getting pretty full. Last night I checked the top box again. when I tried to lift the bars out the comb seems like it is so full of honey that it splits the comb into 2 pieces. I pulled the top box off to see how heavy it was and found it to be about 35 lbs. Any suggestions on how to get the bees out of the top box since I can't pull the bars up?

Well, normally a bee escape board is the easiest way. But here's a way to do it without one http://thebeespace.net/2008/11/20/cu...est/#more-1114

That's cool! Thanks for posting. I love low-tech (and not having to store a lot of additional stuff that rarely gets used -- like escape boards).
