Default Honey harvest - small compared to last year

Anyone else have a much smaller harvest than last year? I still have roughly 8-10 gallons left from last spring and i have enjoyed a healthy amount of honey for the last year. I do not know exactly how much i had, but suffice to say LOTS. This year... I have about 4 gallons. Granted I have one less hive this year.

I averaged 70 pounds per production hive. Not to bad, but I had expected more.

I'm certainly way behind this year. I expect to get as much as last year but with more hives and at a later date.
Late frost and then a month of rain killed my early flows. I'm counting on a good weed crop though.

A bumper honey harvest this year. The spring weather had me holding off on making nucs and then everything was slow to develop. I combined some nucs w/ overwintered hives so I had the population in the hives to catch the early flow, which is critical here.
When spring finally got going the weather co operated and so did the plants and the flows have been the best in a long time. The Black Locust was one for the books.
Now lets see what late summer and fall brings.

Wow. My girls are not getting going. Odd.. I put them in on drawn comb very early april. They had honey and pollen stores to get going but apparently the flow was weak. These are packages from California and more gentle than my NJ/NY girls that died this past winter. Wonder if that has anything to do with anything. Oh well. Lets hope this fall golden rod produces mass quantities!! Last fall I didnt take a drop since spring was sooo heavy.
