Hello from Stephenson, in Menominee County. 20 years on and off keeping bees. Currently just one hive in the back yard.

    Ya Der Hey!

Have a friend that is vacationing in Keweenaw, the hook shaped peninsula that juts into Lake Superior (Gitchie Gumee) from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. They are checking out Houghton and Hancock, too. Anything I should tell them to check out??

Who doesn't like a pasty! We add gravy!

"Pasty's" who said pasty's, some one send me a dozen, haven't had a pasty for years and years and years. Mom's side of family is up around Chassell, Houghton and Hancock, haven't been up there sense I was a kid.

Pasty are easy to make. Mom like Jiffy pie dough. Cut up some meat, potatoes and onions mix together salt and pepper. I add some. Garlic. Roll out the dough put some mix on it a pat of butter fold over the top cut some vent hole. Bake for about 1/2 to a 1 hour till done. I have had them with other ingredients or meet type. But I allis come back to this. Though I do use some venison stew meat in mine. A good winter Sunday day meal. Figure a good half day in the kitchen.

I was born and bred a Jayhawker. Transplanted to Nevada where they do not seem to give themselves such designations. But in the spirit of the midwest where Jayhawks vie with those such as Sonners and Cornhuskers. I must say a Yooper sounds like something we would eat for breakfast.

Careful, dem cold winters make for might tough Yoopers. In a knock down, drag out, I know where my money would be. Us Cheeseheads usually try to stay on their good side. Too many places to hide bodies up there.

We set a record this year with 73 consecutive day below freezing and almost a two weeks with a high of zero. And yes I know a few spots!
