Its a start to get the bees back and that's what I like. More of the John Q Public need to know the better for all of us.
I fully support the EPA and OSHA on any endeavor concerning helping the bees and beekeeps.
Good to see someone looking out for our environment, like natural food and clean water for us and generations to come. Hmmmm, has any of our past presidents ever shown an interest in honey bees or was a beekeeper.:s
This is a very interesting development. If nothing else, it brings the issue of bees and pollination back into the national consciousness, which has a notoriously short attention span. While I doubt that the government can really do more than it already is doing, and I believe groups like the BeeInformed Partnership are already on this job, the news is still good news.
Nothing improves the lot of beekeepers more than publicity. People become aware of honey and buy it. They are reminded of the value of fruit and vegetables as a costly but essential part of the diet. The are reminded of the importance of environmental protection and the fact that there is only one world and we had better take care of it.
This may be a political act of some sort, of course, but we should try to use it to get our message out: Support beekeeping by buying honey, and bee-pollinated fruits and veggies!
