Question synthesizing thyme and sugar for controlling varroa mites

    Hey all,

I'm entering a contest to be able to present the honeybee research I'm working on to a much larger audience. The winners are judged on scientific accuracy, number of views, and video production. Share away. Thanks!

Strange, beekeepers in the US try to find something out that already exist? Since last year I buy from a distributor here a thymol product especially for a mix into the syrup. This powder comes from the same company where I got my OA vaporizers. It has a label "bee tea" and works like described on the video. I fed my bees in spring and now my splits, have not find (so far) a single mite in the drone or bee brood.
If bees store some of it in the honey cells it is not a problem, you can't taste it's a natural part of honey an there is no MRL worldwide.
It comes from your country and wonder why you think it is something new?

Axtmann thanks for the info I found it. Heilyser in Canada is the manufacturer. I'll research it but I think there's a difference as to the amount actually absorbed by the larvae. Either way it gives me some research to do. I'll share what I find. Thanks again Axtmann. I used to live in Augsburg by the way.
