    Default Deformed Wing Virus?

Outside one of my strong hives, many of the dead and dying bees they drag out have split wings, some no wings at all. It is possible to tell if this is DWV since I am looking at the dead and dying bees, or would I see signs of it inside the hive during an inspection as well. I have noticed some mite issues with this hive.

Time to do a sugar shake, or alcohol wash for mite levels and get ready to treat.

Treat immediately. Once the hive is exhibiting high symptoms, the keeper is chasing the mite syndromes, often unsuccessfully.
