    Default Hi From Troy Va.

Just starting out. 5 weeks ago a local Bee Keep helped us trap a swarm in a tree in the neighbors yard and has helped us get started on our fist hive. He said it was about 5 or 6 pounds of bees. It was going to be freezing night so we were lucky to get them boxed up in good shape. My wife and I have been reading about Honey Bees for a couple of years but just never could make the leap into setting up our first hive. We are now filling out the second brood box and the Queen is laying well and we have pollen and capped honey. I am lucky to have a successful mentor to help me get started. I also greatly appreciate the information and community this forum brings together! --Eric
