The "cataleptic fit" is now called epilepsis. I've seen it several times, mostly when I couldn't get the queen to show her thorax in the hole of the punger tube top and it took repeated "squishings" to get her marked. I have never observed this in a queen that was marked while holding her by the wings and marking her quickly and returning her to the comb in short order. I suspect rough handling has something to do with it.
