Default First swarm trapped this spring.

First swarm in trap today, 4/11/2014. High was 87, very windy but sunny, feral swarm from woods, South Texas, zone 9b. Same tree I caught 2 swarms last spring

Did a cutout of a huge hive yesterday, and transported the hive home tonight. They filled all the bars on a 4' TBH. Really nice bees. Got lucky and found the queen on the ground trying to crawl back under the Morgan building we had jacked up to provide removal space

Got 25 traps out so the fun has begun!

How did you attach the cutout combs to the top bar? I will be doing a cutout tomorrow and I have a TBH to experiment with.

I use the 1/2 x 1" cage wire and bend it to fit over the top of the bar with open 1" prongs to stab the comb. Do a search for "hardware cloth to attach comb."
