Default Freezing bucket of wax to kill small hive beetles?

I did a rather failed tree rescue/cut out.

We scrapped all the comb and put in buckets.

Opened one today (day after) and there was about 60ish shb at the top of the bucket.

Could I clean out room in my chest freezer and drop the bucket in for a day or so and kill off the beetles?

Just gonna use the wax for candles and such.

Sure, you could do that. However, since your going to render the comb, filling the bucket with water to cover the comb would be effective. If your ready to boil up the mass, that would also be effective.
