    Default Hello From NW Michigan

Going into my second season with bees. My hive didnt make it through the winter and I am very bummed, but also geeked up to start again. Im thinking of a nuc and one starter pkg. Im assuming I can put the new packaged bees in the hive that is already established? It has comb in it but no honey.

Welcome to beesource. As long as the old comb doesn't have foul brood you should be fine putting the new package bees in the drawn out comb.

welcome to beesource. Sorry to hear that the hives didn't make it. lots of losses after the winter we've had. You live i na pretty area. my father-in-law has some property up there on Cool Lake not too far from the Dublin Store out East of the city. He's got an off-shore sportfishing boat that he docks at the Riverside Marina, so we get up there a few times a year for the salmon fishing and some river kayaking. I never have gotten a decent fish out of teh river, but we always do well out on the lake.

Yes the area is very nice. I know the area you are talking about. I have fished in the channel and on the pier, but not much luck either.
