ok so im new to the whole bee thing, so any help would be great. Im starting a hive that has been used before but has been sitting for a good 2 years. I open them up and there are thick spider web like stuff in some of the supers, between the frames. Im thinking its wax moth. so to the question, do i need to scrape off all the comb down to the foundation? or can i just take off the cobweb type stuff and leave the comb alone? Should i treat it with some kind of spray, i didn't see any thing alive and it have been well below zero this winter. here are some pics so you can see what im working with.
