    Default New top bars hives

These are my new hives. The ones I built last year were mainly based on Dr. Mangum's design. These are four feet long, eleven inches deep with a 17.5 inch top bar. I guess these are a cross between Dr. Mangum's, and Michael Bush's top bar hives. Comments? Suggestions? Questions? Let me know what you all think.

Yes they are. I can t take credit for them. A Mennonite friend of mine cut them for me in his wood shop.

I really like the way you cut that bottom board, great idea. How did you calculate that angle and did you transfer it to the top of your side boards so your top bars lay flatter?

It s just the landing board that's cut like that. I used a file to round the edges to help water to flow off the board.

It looks good. What thickness is the side boards? Looks like 1/2".
