    Default If they swarm...

I live in a suburban neighborhood and this past summer began seeing bees on some of the flowering plants in my yard. I have an old nuc box and decided to set it on the patio and see if I could attract the bees to that by feeding them. Sure enough, they found it and now I can put out sugar water or honey once a month and they will still find it. If this hive, wherever it is, decides to swarm, do I have any hope of them choosing the nuc box?

    Hope springs eternal!

You may be able to improve your odds by adding some old brood comb, if you have any. Also a few drops of lemongrass oil may help. More swarm trapping info here:
