Like Melliferal and others when I saw the thread title I hoped to see newly inspired guests logging in and making their first posts but after reading all the back and forth criticism I understand why they don't.

It's a shame, maybe we can keep some of this "who's hive tool is bigger" stuff in private messages

    Now you're resorting to coercion?

Just a suggestion. You're the one touting your altruism. Just suggesting. I know you will do what is best for yourself.

Show me the quote where I was critical of your 'good deeds'? It wasn't the deeds.

In the short time I have bothered to post on this forum, WLC has been a "police detective" in witness protection because international killers were after him, the honest cop who sent his bent boss to jail, a international high-financier working in exotic European capitals, and now a renowned scientist briefly stopping by the forums on his way to picking up his Nobel.
But when all this had me confused, ie how one man could accomplish so much, I asked him what specifically, his often mentioned degrees were in.

The reply and I quote - "I have more degrees than a thermometer". Unfortunately that post has since been deleted as it also had WLC claiming he has enemies here, he has in the past destroyed people, and the old feelings are coming back, he might destroy more people.

However in the light of these degrees, too many to mention or say specifically what any of them are, there is no doubt in my mind that WLC could easily have accomplished everything he has claimed, not least a police detective, International high financier, keeper of two huge tower hives that he has DNA sequenced, teacher, altruist, renowned scientist, and for a man so qualified I am certain that must merely be scratching the surface.

There is still work to be done though WLC, could I suggest finding the cure for cancer, and solving world hunger.

But hey, I'd love if you could, just as a favor, come down and talk to a simple man like me, and deign to tell me what just one of your degrees are. Just ONE, would make me feel so privileged to know.

    Your humility is so inspiring!

Kidding aside, if folks want to learn something here, it helps to have a thick skin and an open mind. You'll run across unpleasant people everywhere and BeeSource is no exception, but you get out of these forums what you put into them.

However, if you're only here to let everyone know what a great beekeeper or scientist you are, you might not learn a whole lot.

Fortunately, excessive amounts of knowledge isn't a problem I'm going to have anytime soon, so I've learned a tremendous amount... well worth the occasional unpleasantness.

And lack of knowledge certainly is no barrier to some being very vociferous in their opinions and holding to them stridently.

There are wannabe scientists, but also genuine scientists here whose input I value hugely. Any newby can find this a great resource if they are open minded, plus sift the wheat from the chaff.

Beesource. Best source of bee info on the net. All comers may participate though, which is good, bad, and fun.
