Let me guess. 1500 people trying to read and learn about bees and less than 100 or so with widely differing levels of experience talking. Hmmmmmm, Check out the recent postings for clues. I wouldn't blame many for being a bit apprehensive. Come on aboard folks. Don't let a NYC teachers one season of experience with one Weaver queen continue to be the dominant subject on this forum. There must be more experiences out there. Please?

For those reading that have not registered, there are actual benefits to reading after registering, even if you never make a post.

The forum software can keep track of what point in each thread you have already looked at, and can take you to the point where new posts are. But that system only works if you have created an account.

And for those who are not quite sure what this thread is all about, see the What's Going On statistics at the bottom of this page:

You're being very critical of me Mr. 'Yellow Dent #2 Corn'.

Don't think for a second that I'll give you the moral high ground.

It won't happen in this lifetime.

Hey I like WLC, especially the new version who seems to have a bit lighter tone and a better sense of humor. I was attempting some humor in pointing out the obvious. Was I factually incorrect about something? He admits to being a teacher (or at least to having students), he has had one Beeweaver queen for one year, and it is perhaps the most famous queen on Beesource. That at least gives me the factual high ground, right?
Yellow dent #2? I like it....I think Any relation to Austin Powers sidekick?

    Jim:

There's nothing wrong with running a business.

However, I'm also a Biologist who has done genomics work on the bees I've had.

We are not doing this for the same reasons.

In reality, I've helped students of many levels, including graduate/doctoral students, achieve their goals.

I've done more good, out of altruism, than you have.

So, where do you fit in here?

I think it's easier for people to relate to a conversation when they are reading posts on a forum from people they know.
And its interesting because I'm starting to "know" beekeepers who post here on beesource as the conversation continues. This forum is the only forum I visit and basically the only time I use the internet aside from email, my blog and Facebook. To me beesource is like heading down to the " beesource " coffee shop, where it is the only place I can submerge into a beekeeping conversation on a daily basis . Love it!

But this smart phone is turning this visit into a bit of an addiction!!

Sorry to interrupt this pig wrestling exhibition, but to get back to the original post..... I suspect there are many, like myself, who are members and don't bother to log into their account when on the forum. I presume, I'd then show up as a guest in the statistics. I only need to log in if I want to post something or search for a topic. The vast majority of the time what little I can contribute has already been added and questions I have are already asked, but I love hunting for those little jewels of helpful information that make me a better beekeeper. Sorry if my laziness is messing up the statistics, but never was one to follow the common road!

Oh, come on teach. How are the bees doing with all that snow? And today it is going to be 60 degrees. Did you hear that?

Now if you were really lazy (like me) you would follow the links you get in a email notification that will send you right to the threads that you subscribed to automatically signed in. Nothing says you have to post just cause you are signed in.

    Happy Holidays.
