My local beekeeping association is interested in hosting the State of Florida's Annual Beekeeping Convention in 2014, but we are competing with another chapter. We are in Palm Beach County, Florida. Today (Dec 12th) it is 76F outside, flowers are still blooming and my bees are still gathering pollen. Yesterday it was 83F.
The convention would probably be a two day event. What would make it attractive for visitors from outside Florida? The convention is usually in November. What would be the "ideal" winter month to attract the most people? If you are in the beekeeping industry, perhaps this trip to Florida during winter would be a tax deductible expense. Any ideas to boost attendance?
We would hold it at the South Florida Fairgrounds, 9067 Southern Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33411

The site has ample FREE parking and indoor and outdoor exhibition space.
Palm Beach County has a population of 1.3 million (it is very spread out), so there are every amenity imaginable.
