    Default 2014 VSH queens

I hope everyone had a good year and winter treats ya'll nice. I will start taking orders for 2014 queens tomorrow. These will be open mated queens from breeders I purchased from VP Queens and Harbo Bee Company.

All mated queens will be marked at no charge. I will mark Virgins for $2.00 each if requested.

Mated queens will be $22.00 each this year. Virgins will be $8.00 each.

Mated queens will be in JZBZ plastic cages and Virgins will be in California mini cages.

Shipping for mated queens will be $20.00 per order with free shipping on orders of 10 or more.

Shipping for Virgins will be $25.00 per order.

Mated queens will be pulled on Monday and shipped on Tuesday by USPS express mail. Many shipments will arrive overnight and all will be guaranteed in two days.

Virgins will be shipped same way on Wednesday.

Please place your orders to my e-mail. I need your name, address, phone number and number of queens wanted. If you have a prefered shipment week I will try to fill your order on that date unless it is filled up.

I plan to have at least 100 mated queens each week plus excess queen cells will be used for virgin production. Most weeks I can do 30 to 50 Virgins.

I will start shipping mated queens the first week of April. Virgins will be available 3 weeks earlier.

Are these the dark VSH or the gold? Will you have any Pol-Line?

    Thanks!

Is there any genetic/trait difference in the two colors? For some reason I really like the dark color queens.

Adam has been selecting the two lines to be more Carni and Italian like. We use them both here in MS and I don't see a lot of difference, but then again I don't really look at our production hives close enough to see a difference.

Do your queens mate with a drone bee that also carries the gene. This is important I would think.

Thanks a look forward to my order,

I have been using VSH breeders for 3 years now and the drone come from colonies headed by VSH queens.

Thank you for the response, I was assuming as much but needed to ask.

I will be out of the country until end of March, when do you want my order?

I have to ask... why is it more expensive to ship a virgin queen?

All mated queens are shipped on Tuesday. Virgins emerge on Tuesday afternoon and night so I have to make a special trip to town to ship virgins.

    Johnny,

Will you clip the wing as well when marking?

What is the earliest date you have for 2-4 mated queens?
