    Default French Green Clay

Where can I get French Green Clay in the States at a reasonable price? Looking for some to use both externally (in soap) and/or internally.

Also, anyone familiar with other clays that are good for this also.
Any other information/experiences would also be appreciated.

My thanks now for any and all help! Thanks!

If you buy it with the word "French" in the description it costs about 4 times more than the same powder without the "French" word!

2.2 lbs for $7.49 (no "French")
    http://www.amazon.com/Illite-Green-C.../dp/B006Y8F75A

1.0 lbs for $17.81 (includes "French" in the description)
    http://www.amazon.com/Frontier-Frenc.../dp/B000UYA1WI

Note that the powder is actually "Illite", and you will will likely find better pricing searching for that word.

Also, I had never heard of either French Green Clay or Illite before today, so I could be completely wrong in my analysis!

We have some "Aztec Secret" which is calcium bentonite.

Referred to as argile verte (green clay) on the label.

"Vitamin Shoppe" and Whole Foods sell it.

Thanks Rader and BeeCurious. Been doing so much reading up on clays, what kinds there are, what they are good for and where they are harvested from.

We bought some Aztec Secret as BC suggested and some European clay powder (Montmorillonite) by NOW at the health food store. Wish these could also be used for internal detox.

These should be very good ingredients in soap or to use alone in soaking bath, clay mask, hair/scalp wrap, or to apply to cuts or wounds and external detox. I read that instead of adding water to the clay to use jojoba oil instead as the clay is only active as long as it is wet and it may dry out too quickly using water. Clay aids healing, pulls out infections, toxins/heavy metals, and remineralizes the skin. Some people use edible clay in a medicinal manner. Edible clay can be used to rid pets of parasites. Not all clay can be taken internally

This thread got a little weird for me.

Even though I am neither French nor green.
