Default Frame feeders for open feeding???

Anyone ever try lining up a few frame feeders about 30' away from the hives as open air feeders??? I put covers on & ladders installed.
So much robbing going on I'm trying to lure them away from the hives...

I spread out scrap candy on a piece of plywood about 50' feet away from the hives. This seems to work well. In the past I used open feeders but there tended to be a lot of bees drowning.

I tried open feeding and my neighbor really appreciated me taking care of his bees for him and I had some of the healthiest yellow jackets in town.

Have you been inside your hives recently to see what things are like in there? Maybe the reason so much robbing is going on has something to do w/ your colonies.

I wouldn't. "if" I were to open feed id use a bucket chicken feeder. I think there are a few vids on youtube

I feed internally. This time of year they can suck down a gallon plus in a day no problem.

I use a chicken feeder, i fold some screen and put it in the trough for the bees to have something to climb onto.
