is one way to do it. Be sure to copy/paste the entire line. Test it with "Preview".

You can look up BBCode use by clicking the link at the very bottom of this forum page.

At the same page where you specify your signature, check the settings shown below the signature input area. Specifically, look for:

    Allow HTML BB Code

    Mine is set to "Yes"

If yours is "No", that may be the problem.

From what I can tell, my signature on my account is closed to BB and HTML code. I have applied to the administer to change this.

The code in your signature looks correct to me.

An alternate you can try is:

    [URL]www.oliverfranklandscapia.com[/URL]

Watch carefully when you click SAVE on the signature page. If you get any error messages, those need to be fixed or it won't work properly.

If you get error messages, click the leftmost button on the toolbar "Switch Editor to Source Mode" to show ALL codes. If you see codes other than URL and /URL, then that is likely the problem.
Sometimes I get COLOR and /COLOR codes. Those are not allowed in signatures and must be removed.

I will leave my test signature line as it is til morning, then revert back to my normal one.

Cristian - FYI, my examples above are using the NOPARSE and /NOPARSE codes to force th display of the URL codes. Ollie, ignore this part of the message.

In your SIG line... if you click the quote.... you go to the UU Church in Canton..... He wants to know how you did that. Go ahead... tell him! Oh..... must be one of those advanced techie things.... right? LOL

By accident actually. When I went to change my signature, which previously had the www.uucantonny.org link, it still does, some how. Don't ask me to explain it.

So why does copy and pasting these suggestions not work? I am a beekeeper and landscaper, not a techie.

Not sure what is going on but

    Jollie Ollie Landscaping Home Page

    appeared to work for me.....

Do you see this in your Signature Permissions:

    Allow Link BB Code Yes

I'll leave that in my sig for a little bit.

Probably, because you copied and pasted the NOPARSE tags, too. They disable the HTML.

If you have it set to view the text of the HTML code, tags are in pairs, with this format: [tag1] [/tag1], etc. NOPARSE is the name for a tag set that tells the computer to ignore what is between that tag set.

Rader used NOPARSE tags in his earlier posts, so that he could display the text of the actual HTML code, and not have the computer turn it into active/actual links. If he hadn't done that you wouldn't be able to see the actual HTML code, because the computer would translate it into the link. Sorta a catch-22. In my earlier post, stead of NOPARSE tags, I just left off the first character of the HTML code line, breaking it, so the remaining text could be seen.

Here is a version that can be copied and pasted. It should work fine. Doesn't have any NOPARSE statements hidden in it.

Note that the signature area in each member's account has its own set of permissions. The ability to post an active link in the normal message area does not mean that the member has the correct permissions to post an active link in the signature area. You can examine your own permissions for the signature area under "Settings" at the top of this page to see how this works.

FYI, I do not have any Administrator powers/privileges and cannot resolve permissions based issues.
