    Good to hear. I would be worried about doing a manual release in my yard right now - opening hives for any length of times sets off fierce amounts of robbing. Large populations of foragers and nothing to forage on.

    It's been like that here too, particularly a few weeks ago. Doesn't take them long and they are all over everything, along with their yellow jacket buddies. I worked a little faster than I usually do when I opened up the hives for the requeening. And to complicate things further I've been feeding syrup the past few weeks too. Almost finished, on the home stretch and close to wrapping things up for the year.
