    Default Newbee from western PA

Hello all! I live in Butler PA and have just finished muddling my way though my first season as a beehive owner. I wouldn't consider myself a beekeeper just yet. I just want to thank everyone who is sharing their experiences here.

Welcome. Grew up down in Washington PA myself but will eventually settle in Bedford. How 'bout them Steelers. Looks like the Cowher dividend has been spent.

A few PA beekeepers lurk here but most seem to be in the north and the east.

    Hello Doug,

I am a newbee too, a few miles to the southeast of you near Irwin. How many colonies do you have?

    Honey Hive Farms,

    Doug,
Hang in there, you will learn more and more each year and the more hives you get, well to me the easier it is, but yes more labor involved.

There are a lot of beekeepers on this site that know a lot.

    Take care

I have 2 and hope to split them next year, not sure how big I want to go, just started out wanting some honey for the table and having honeybees around.
