I've trapped swarms before with success, but monday was my first swarm call where we dropped them into a topbar hive box and took them away.
Any indicators I should be looking for regarding the behavior? Gave them syrup today, and saw that they are still in a ball in the center of the hive. I know I should give them brood, but don't have any drawn topbars close by.
I suppose I should be looking for the usual traffic signals coming and going from the entrance (foraging lines). Anything else that may be a sign of staying or moving out?
