Default Looking for frame building thread

Yes I tried the search function. I am trying to find a specific thread that had someone building their own frames using, if memory serves (usually doesn't), 2X6s cut with the end bevels first then ripped to width for the top bars. At any rate, any help would be appreciated.

Here are two of the threads available:
    http://www.beesource.com/forums/show...ar-routing-jig
    http://www.beesource.com/forums/show...-Frame-Designs
In the second thread above, note comments by jrbbees following my post #3. I now have more experience making frames and agree with jrbbees.

Of course, I don't know which thread you are looking for. The best search feature for this kind of thing is the Google Custom Search on the left of the Beesource home page: http://www.beesource.com/

Paste this phrase "jointer end bars 2x6" into the search box and enjoy ...

Thank you westernbeekeeper that is the thread I was looking for. Tommyt I was thinking the frame build should be compiled to be placed on the DIY section but alas it is not yet there with the photos and all, just drawings that I have seen. Rader ST I will check those threads as well.

If you are making frame components, you may also be interested in the frame assembly jig plans in the DIY section:

I built one, and it works quite well.

Would there be some interest if I compiled the photos and instructions into a PDF file, and sent it to the moderator for publishing on the DIY section of the site?

westernbee: I think it would be worth while, but it might be worth asking Barry as well as the OG posters of information if you use any others besides yours.

Rader ST: I have a frame building jig I built last year after reaching a high level of frustration with the Brushy Mountain jig. I used a nice 8' piece of poplar and cut it down to fit frame width and as long as I could get it otherwise. It builds 14 frames at once, which isn't all that convenient as it isn't an easy multiple of 8 (8 frame boxes), but it works much better than the BM version and for that I am happy!

I wrote up how I make frames last year, don't have time at the moment to search up the thread for you (it's grape harvest season and I need to get to work on that very shortly).

Try a search using my user name and "making frames" or something similar.

Peter did not start the linked thread on making frames, but he has several posts in it and it may be the one he is referring to:
