    Default adding deep this late

I collected a small swarm end of July and have kept it in a single deep. Two weeks ago when I checked it was dry, no nectar or honey, so I started feeding it. Yesterday when I checked it was completely full-- three to four frames of eggs/brood and the rest filled with nectar/syrup and a bit of pollen. So I added a deep, but I didn't have any with comb, so it is new foundation. Will they draw out the comb this late in the season?

Default Re: adding deep this late

I checked in on this hive yesterday, two days after adding the deep with new foundation. They had not drawn out the comb at all. They did take the gallon of syrup and I'm not exactly sure where they put it. It didn't seem like they had been robbed.
