If so, I'd be curious what kind of fuel burn you have when running empty. I may wind up getting a new one to mitigate damage from the tax man this year. I have a 2004 F350 with a 6.0 diesel and 3.73 gears. Looks like the highest speed gears for the new 6.7 diesel 450 are 4:10 gears. Just trying to get some idea of the difference in fuel economy. I'm a part-time beekeeper (800 hives) and all my travel is local so don't have the long-distance and heavy hauls like some of you. My big trip is to haul a fishing boat to Louisiana from North Dakota once a year!! I'll probably put the same 8 x 12 aluminum bed I have now on the new truck--don't know what it weighs but much lighter than steel. Reiten built it for me when I bought my current truck.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
