    Default After extracting?

Hi, we plan on extracting a super of honey today. Was wondering what to do with the super after. Can I put it back on the hive for the bees to clean it up? What do you do? Monty in marquette

Yes, you can put it above the inner cover. They will clean it up in a couple days

I suppose if you left it there they would. After a couple days pull it off.

Put the wet super back on hive on Sunday above the inner cover. Took it off today. The cleaned it up perfectly and were in process of rebuilding. Took it off and brushed the bees off.

Two weeks later mine have fixed the comb and already have the mediums half full of honey again, stinky honey they can use for winter feed.

I have had bees fill supers put above an inner cover for them to clear off. The idea is that the bees will not recognize the super as part of their hive and rob it out. It has been suggested to me, but I haven't tried yet, that placing an empty super between the inner cover and the super(s) I want cleaned out will ensure that the super gets cleaned out and not refilled.
