Default Cut out last Friday, August 16, 2013 with pics.

We did a cutout last Friday down in PA. It was a fun day Hopp did a great job running the chainsaw. It took about five hours. We picked them up that night. There where only a few stragglers the next day. Checked them today. We got the queen and they are doing good. Dave Adamson did a great job taking the pics. Enjoy.

Andrew, at first I was alarmed at seeing that beautifull tree being felled just for bees, insted of a trap out.
Then I saw the cavity and realized the tree was compromised by the cavity and it could have been a sefety issue.
    Good job!

We got seven frames of brood and very little honey. The comb was all very dark. We put in three frames of foundation to fill the space. Last Saturday a week and a day after the cut out Katie and I inspected and found one of the frames of foundation was half drawn. There was eggs so we got the queen. We are feeding them. There are a lot of bees. I am glad we have the queen. Seem to be a lot of big hives with little honey. I hope all those bees find a good flow before winter.
