    Default Name that stain

A dark stain appeared at my hive's entrance about 2 weeks ago. It's thick, sticky, and about the size of an egg. The bees don't seem to mind. Could this be a sign of disease (like Nosema droppings) or is it just an accumulation of wax or propolis? Thanks, Nervous Newbie

    Looks like propolis to me.

Old comb chewings, cleanup residue. Bees are expanding into an old comb.

Normal debris. Gravity and normal activity caused it to collect there.

Too small to pick up and carry away. Just brush or blow it off if it bothers you. Nothing wrong going on.
