Default apivar and the honey super

I have one super that is full with honey. I want to apply apivar soon. I know the instructions say remove the honey super...If I am not going to collect the honey but leave it for the bees do I still need to remove it? If I do remove it how do I store it until I can put it back in 6 weeks?

Wrap or bag the frames in plastic & put them in a freezer. Make sure it is defrosted before you unwrap it and put it back on the hive.

If you want to leave those frames for the bees, you don't need to remove it.

I don't know how critical it is, but if I leave honey frames for the bees, I mark those frames so I know not to use them for human consumption in the future. I very very seriously doubt that frames that are already capped when apivar is applied are an issue, but I like to err on the side of caution (and the label instructions).
    Try it. What could happen?
