    Default Moving a swarm

So one of my hives swarmed yesterday AM, and landed in an inconvenient place (of course) in a tree approx. 35 ft up and about 40 feet from the original hive. So I took a couple of deeps, threw in some old comb, and a frame of honey and hoisted it in the bucket of my tractor about 10-12 ft up. In the event that they take to it (which, given the interest they've shown, seems like a good possibility), what would be they best way to move this hive? I'd be ok with just lowering the bucket and placing the hive on the ground, but how long should I wait to do that? should I lower it gradually? or can I just move it to my ideal spot ( a few feet away)
    Thoughts are appreciated.

If they choose the bait hive as their new home, you should be able to move it to the new location without too much trouble. I usually move my swarm boxes to their new spot after dark when they stopped buzzing around...

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.
