I am looking to buy some quality bottom boards. Would rather they be put together alreasdy but will put together if need be. anyone have any suggestions
They build up easy, and do the job. The "wood" I use is Trax HDPE lumber, painted to match my various hive colors. Trax is deck material available at any of the big-box home improvement stores. Of course, you could use standard wood for construction.
Great idea, I'm sure you can find one yourself, or talk to one of them and they most likely know of a friend who wants to make a few extra bucks. But really, they are not difficult to make even if you have no carpentry skills, just duplicate one that you already have. John
Does everybody use both sides of their reversible bottom boards? I made two out of cedar for my first two hives this spring. I only made a 3/4 inch side. They were very easy to make, but maybe I need the 3/8 side?
