Default Bee on Bee disagreement over 'Blossom rights.'

While I was shooting some close up video of a couple of bees on a St. John's Wort blossom I noticed some interaction. When I replayed the scene on my laptop, it was more like a skirmish. One bee actually tried to bite the other one's leg. I'm wondering why some bees get along fine (there's a scene with SEVEN bees on a blossom)? Is it how related they are? Same drone 'father?' Any thoughts?

Interesting! I planted 2 lavender plants in our yard for the honeybees. Unfortunately, the bumblebees claimed the plants. :-/ I was wondering if there was some sort of "claim" that the bumblebees made on the lavender.

I have dozens of lavender plants in my yard blooming now, as well as ten hives. Not one single honey bee is on the lavender, but they are covered with bumbles. I guess honey bees just don't like lavender.

Some people get it and some don't...I wonder if the hyphen is the problem. Try just going to www.solarbeez.com, then going to the right side where it says "Recent Posts" and select "Hyper-bees on Hypericum"
Sorry about the problem and thanks for mentioning it.
