    Default How late queen rearing

What is the latest time of year that any of you would attempt queen rearing, sure it depends on season and flow but with feeding how late. Guess you would want colony to build up for winter as well. Really like the idea of producing your own queens from local resources.

The only limits for raising queens is are there drones for them to mate with.

Most definitely weather/location related. Of the past five years, I've been able to raise queens year-'round for four of them.

Thanks gmcharlie, that was what I was thinking, looking forward to experimenting with it.
Rube63, guess I could look at my hives and get a guess as to wild drones still around or not, I am shooting for the first of August,

    Thanks
