Gnats around entrance of hive? New swarm = no pollen?
We caught a swarm on Sunday. It's been in our backyard since Sunday and has been doing well, or so it seems to us - 2 very new to beekeeping folk. Two questions, 1. There are gnats circling in front of the entrance and some on the entrance area. Is this dangerous to the bees? And 2. We don't see our bees collecting any pollen. We see them all over our flowers and coming/going very actively but we haven't seen any of them carrying pollen. We're in Ohio and it's been very warm the last 2 days. Any idea?
