Default ever want to take up....

    basket weaving instead of beekeeping?

I was having a problem with my bees being honey bound last week(5 days ago) ...so I pulled 5 deep frames and added 5 empty frames....on inspection today I still do not have any brood and they are starting to store honey in the deeps again....not sure if the queen is even still there or maybe I rolled her when I noticed they were bound, however the bottom line is I am headed back to the same place I was in 5 days ago............would basket weaving be easier and less aggravating?

Baskets are cool but they taste terrible! I'd look hard for that queen. Sometimes I notice a queenless hive gathers a lot of nectar so if that's the case you may want to focus on re-queening.

Maybe they already swarmed before you opened the brood nest.

They could swarm as late as October if they get crowded and get their mind made up.
