Fat bee man has a neat cheap trap using crisco and boric acid. Get on you tube and search his videos. In the meantime, make sure your hive is strong. Is your queen laying well? If not, it might be time to requeen. A strong hive is the best defense against SHB. Make sure there is not alot of empty comb in your hive, if so, take out those bars and put in your follower board. If there is not enough bees to patrol the comb, that is when SMB will take over. Then get in your hive and smash, smash, smash, those dang bettles! IF your not adverse to using chemicals, Check Mite strips can also be used.
