Default Maxant extractor without the stand

I am looking to buy this one: Nine Frame Extractor POWER-9F

I noticed that there is an extra charge for the "Leg Kit" and I want to know if the Legs are necessary to the functioning of the machine. If not, what is the advantage of having the Leg Kit?

    Thanks.

The legs are useful to raise the extractor high enough so that you can get a bucket or other container under the honey gate to transfer the extracted honey elsewhere.

If you choose not to buy the legs you could make a stand for the extractor to serve the same purpose. Several Beesource members have posted photos of their efforts in earlier threads. Here is one of them:

Thanks! So the legs are not integral to the operation of the machine, but serve to elevate it for draining etc.

    Cool.

You can always add the legs down the road.
There are 3 lugs welded on the bottom ring with
holes there. This will allow you to holy/clamp to a flat surface
    if desired.
