Sick bees or old bees?? Light in color, moving slow.
I peeked into our observation window today, and I noticed two bees dying on the bottom floor. I figured I'd open up the hive to see what was going on. There were many bees that seemed like they were losing their color. They were very light and the hair on their thorax was almost white. They were moving very slow. I don't think we have any mite issues, b/c we had a break in the brood cycle when the queen superseded a few weeks ago. Any ideas?? I haven't seen any of those symptoms in the book I've read. Are they just old bees? There were no issues with the brood.

I answered my own question today. Varroa and DWV. I guess the break in the brood cycle didn't matter.
