    Default Honor Stand, FINISHED!

I spent Memorial Day finishing the painting. Making it was relatively quick. The painting was what consumed the time. I wanted it to be highly visible, easily understood, and inviting. I'll have a reverseable sign hanging under "HONOR STAND" that will read "OPEN" or "SOLD OUT" I'm having the money box welded up and I'll bolt it to the counter. The storage in the back is for a few extra supers, bottled honey, and various supplies as the stands location will be at my main apiary.

Now to see if this will work or if I'll end up modifying and repainting this into a deer blind when things go poorly.

Wow! Design is great with the hex pattern painted on there. Nicely done!

What keeps it from blowing over in the wind?

I think it looks great. It also seems to be fairly portable so you could try different locations.

    I did not say that!!!
The thought of testing the bucket method with the honor stand in the back of a pickup did cross my mind!

They'd steal the whole thing around here.

Yeah, it seems that's a marketing method that you can definitely do in some places and you just plain can't do in others.

But boy does that stand ever look nice.

In your photos it looks like you had a couple of creamed honey style jars in there. I know it's just for example; but now I wonder if a stand like that might be a bit too hot during the day to sell creamed honey in practically?

Isn't a brick on top the traditional solution?

No it wouldn't work. Just more sail area to blow it over.
I am sorry, it just looks top heavy to me. Something that would be inviting for drunk seniors to knock over.

That's really great. I think that would work ok around here. Never know though...

    Good work!

How about adding a dummy security camera to reinforce the "honor" idea?

Very nice! Next fall when I visit my son in Lee's Summit I will buy a jar from you, plus my son buys local honey for his allergies. Can you post here or pm where you will have your stand when you are all set up?

Thats pretty funny, now that you clarified it I am picturing a bunch of drunk old folks at midnight trying to buy honey and falling out of their power scooters, and tripping on their walkers knocking over the honor stand.

Though alcohol abuse does happen with underage kids in KC I never seen it as prevelant as NYS. The court system their doesn't tolerate it as society is a bit different.
