Default pkg installed 4/9- 10 frames full of brood. not one honey frame for stores- IDEAS?

I installed a pkg on 4/9/13. being fed 1:1 sugar. Opened the box to see if I could add a med super. Every frame in the box was full of brood.
The box has a ton of bees, no honey. What is the cause and what should I do?
    Thanks for anyones help

if you would like another hive, do a split. if not add a second brood chamber. you have a great opportunity to build a strong hive, increase your bee yard, and learn an awful lot. many wish they had your problem.

If they are on new foundation it is a case of them using all the feed to build the wax and feed the brood. If there is no natural forage available you will have to keep feeding.

They are in build up mode and burning everything to make more bees for the coming main flow...

Congratulations! thats great.... Keep feeding and add another deep... when all them hatch you will need space....! worry about the honey later!

You have reason for concern. With the spring flow trailing off, they could easily starve in the summer doldrums. Locally-adapted bees should know better. Would not be a problem in northern areas with a summer flow.

Add that 2nd box and prepare to feed generously. Gallons.
    Would not recommend equal division.
