I have see several ppl say to put wet frames or equipment out in the bee yard and the bees will clean it right up for you. I put out a sticky bowl and flat pan I used in extracting two days ago and bees wont touch them. what am I missing here. :s
The nectar flow is still on. When the flow stops the bees will be attracted to exposed honey, while it is still on they ignore exposed honey in favor of nectar.
Yup, AR is right. I had something I figured I'd toss out for them and they ignored it. Ended up setting it on the landing board and finally some bees figured they'd stop and clean it up.
Earlier in the year it's harder getting them to work your wet equipment. I just leave the wet supers on longer (above an inner cover) and eventually they'll either clean it up or start filling it with nectar that's coming in. Other equipment just takes a long time while you have a flow on. If it's fall and there's no flow, they'll cover it with bees as they clean it up for you.
