    Default Newbee question

When the bees cap the honey is it white ? I opened my hives today and on some of the combs it looks like it is white. I am not sure what it is or if something is wrong with it.

Different genetics affect how the cappings look. Typically the darker bees make whiter cappings by leaving some air under the surface. Typically Italians make "wet" cappings because they don't leave that air space. For aesthetics people tend to prefer the white cappings for comb honey. Otherwise it makes no difference.
