    Default New from VA

New to the forum. Been beekeeping for the past 13 yrs with my first and only hive. The winter/spring winds knocked it over and took it out. Assembled another hive and hived another package of bees two weeks ago. They are doing great! Going to shift gears this time and would eventually like to end up with 6 to 12 hives total.

Welcome Joe! How did you go so many years without making splits?

I was only interested in the bees for pollinating to start with. Then over time other priorities came up which kind of dragged me away. Each year I would let them swarm and rebuild on their own. Now I would like to try my hand at getting some honey.
