    Default Ant Problem?

    All,

In my top bar hive, there are tons of ants behind the follower board, and on the legs of the hive. There were none in the part of the hive the bees are occupying. Should I do something, like the grease method, or just let it go? The ants were large and black, if that matters.

If this has been addressed in another post, please direct me and forgive the repetition. I couldn't find it using the search or Google.

    Thanks in advance,
    J

My question was more like "Should I do anything?" Should I worry and prevent the ants from geting up the legs, or let the bees fend for themselves?

That's up to you. I have "sugar" ants (very small) and I decided that I don't want them robbing my hives.
